Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top restaurants, has studied Italian cuisine and its traditions as well as participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable opportunity for me. It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of children who are struggling. Burrell is also an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate, where she raises awareness about the condition of children with diabetes. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels across the nation to mentor others in her task. Anne in all her experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's an honor to be able to share her passion for food with other people.
